Hey y'all!
I'm sorry for not sending an email last week, I kinda forgot. But I did not forget this time!
This week was super fun. We were able to do a lot of service, and I love service! We served at the community store house in our area, and we also helped a couple people move. I also got to go on an exchange this past week with our Zone leaders, Elder Brickey and Elder Christensen. For those who don't know what an exchange is, it's when a companionship switches companions with another companionship for a day! So, I was with Elder Christensen and my companion, Elder Marsh, went with Elder Brickey.
On exchange day Elder Christensen and I helped move a washer and dryer from an Elders' apartment to a Sisters' apartment, we made some videos for the zone, (a zone is a geographical area of missionaries), got to know each other a little better, and do all the other things missionaries do.
This past sunday we were able to go to a church member's house and have the sacrament with them. That was super special and always an amazing time to take the sacrament.
For service we helped unload a semi-truck of food our church donated to the local storehouse which was very charitable of them. I was even interviewed on camera! You can view it below. I know that in these days, especially during a pandemic, some people are struggling to make ends meet. It was a great experience to let the world know why service is so very important!
I was grateful for this wonderful chance to serve my community and especially serve and help God's children. As you know, I believe in The Book of Mormon which is a companion to The Bible, telling the story of God's people in the Western Hemisphere. In it we learn how important it is to serve our fellow men. In Mosiah 2:17 it says:
"And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."
I hope y'all have a great week and always remember to love your neighbor!
Elder Delgado
