Weeks 51 & 52 - I'm Going To Be A Trainer

Howdy y'all!

This past week has been so great. We had service projects almost every day! As a district we had 47 hours of service this week. That's a personal record for me as a District Leader. A lot of the pictures you will see down below are of service.

This week I was also able to go to the optometrist and doctor for exams I needed to complete for my Naval Academy application. Oh, PS - I'm applying to the United States Naval Academy.

Other than that everything is just about the same ... Oh I forgot one small thing... it's the start of a new transfer and I going to be training a new missionary!!!! I'm so excited to meet my new greenie!!! He's going to do great things, because he's being trained by the best!!

Oh and guess what!? As crazy as it sounds, on Friday I will hit one year as being a missionary. October 2nd is my year mark and it's so crazy how fast it all went by. Let's hope the next year rocks!

I hope y'all have an amazing new week. Feel free to mail me a letter or write me an email. I realized that not a lot of people write/email me. But that's fine.

Anyways, Ofa Lahu Atu Kimoutolu!

Week 50 - It's Been A Great Week!

 Howdy Cowgirls and Cowboys!

It's me, yet again, with another wonderful email.

This week has been so great. We did a ton of service, we spent some time with members, and did a bunch of work on Facebook.

Every week we usually help out at a place called "Community Storehouse in Keller" and "Christ's Haven for Children". This past week at the store house we helped out in their warehouse where they sort all the donated items. We spent a few hours sorting hangers and hanging clothes that would then be priced. At Christ's Haven we helped give families donated food! It's always super fun to help the community and the families in the community as well. We were also given a bunch of Monster energy drinks after our service, which was pretty dope.

I'm so blessed to be in this area, the Church members here are so kind to missionaries and they love to feed us. When we visit our members we usually share a spiritual message with them.

This week we loved to share Amos 3:7 with them.

"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."

In this scripture we learn that God reveals his secrets to the prophets. As many of you may know, as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we believe there are living Prophets on the Earth today.  We believe that (like in the bible) there are Prophets called of God to help and give guidance to God's children here on Earth.

I just want everyone to know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. God gives us Prophets, like he did a long time ago, to bless us and to warn us of dangers, and to point us in the right direction. Our Prophet today is a man named Russell M. Nelson. I want to challenge you all to pray and to ask God if Russell M. Nelson is a true Prophet of God.

Twice a year our church has a worldwide conference when our prophet speaks to us. It is alway so wonderful to hear. I would like to invite all y'all to watch General Conference in the next coming weeks and listen to what the Prophet and others will say. It will air on BYU-TV or the church's website on Sunday, October 4th at noon, Eastern. I promise that if you listen with a sincere heart you will receive an answer to your prayers and you will be so so so happy!

I testify that Prophets do indeed exist in these last days. I testify that Jesus is the Christ, and this is His gospel here on the Earth. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and it works hand in hand with the Bible. I know that prayer is real and it is powerful, and if you ask, you shall receive.

I love every one of you so much, and God loves you even more. I say all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Weeks 48 & 49 - I Love To Serve!

 Hey y'all!

I'm sorry for not sending an email last week, I kinda forgot. But I did not forget this time!

This week was super fun. We were able to do a lot of service, and I love service! We served at the community store house in our area, and we also helped a couple people move. I also got to go on an exchange this past week with our Zone leaders, Elder Brickey and Elder Christensen. For those who don't know what an exchange is, it's when a companionship switches companions with another companionship for a day! So, I was with Elder Christensen and my companion, Elder Marsh, went with Elder Brickey.

On exchange day Elder Christensen and I helped move a washer and dryer from an Elders' apartment to a Sisters' apartment, we made some videos for the zone, (a zone is a geographical area of missionaries), got to know each other a little better, and do all the other things missionaries do.

This past sunday we were able to go to a church member's house and have the sacrament with them. That was super special and always an amazing time to take the sacrament.

For service we helped unload a semi-truck of food our church donated to the local storehouse which was very charitable of them. I was even interviewed on camera! You can view it below
I know that in these days, especially during a pandemic, some people are struggling to make ends meet. It was a great experience to let the world know why service is so very important!

I was grateful for this wonderful chance to serve my community and especially serve and help God's children. As you know, I believe in The Book of Mormon which is a companion to The Bible, telling the story of God's people in the Western Hemisphere. In it we learn how important it is to serve our fellow men. In Mosiah 2:17 it says:

"And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."

When we are in the service of each other we are in the service of our Heavenly Father. Through service I feel more grateful for what I have and more humbled.

I hope y'all have a great week and always remember to love your neighbor!
